Covid-19 has impacted global connectivity, economies, industries, investment climate and all aspects of social lives. As we gradually transit into the new post-Covid-19 norm, we have witnessed the industry, ecosystem, academic organizations, and governments are all stepping up and working in tandem more than ever to provide support for the industries.

AMTD Group (AMTD) and Singapore Exchange (SGX) just announced their long-term strategic partnership to promote the development of Singapore’s capital markets and strengthen global connectivity. Together, AMTD and SGX will empower corporates and partners from private financing stages to connect with public markets and expand internationally by providing opportunities for efficient market access and fundraising.

Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) has also joined forces to establish an AMTD Global FinTech Fellowship Programme in Singapore to connect local entrepreneurs with Singapore’s capital markets and strengthen their long-term competitiveness. Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief FinTech Officer of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) commended on the initiative and will be joining this webinar.

Earlier this year, AMTD Group, together with Xiaomi, announced a partnership with the Singapore Management University (SMU) and and the Institute of Systems Science (ISS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) to launch a digital finance leadership programme.

As part of these strategic solidarity initiatives, AMTD Group will explore utilising its data analytics expertise, along with existing vast data from its SpiderNet ecosystem, to offer advice and guidance to corporates. The initiatives will also get support through SGX’s participation using distributed ledger technology for the issuance and servicing of fixed income securities in Singapore, as well as the wider adoption of blockchain in capital markets, international payments and settlements, and trade finance etc.

This webinar will bring together the key decision-makers from AMTD, SGX, MAS and SMU to explore the need for close collaboration and support for the Fintech industry, connecting the dots and moving towards a better and brighter future for the financial services industry.
