The 50th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting was held in Davos, Switzerland, from January 21 to 24, 2020. The theme of this year’s Davos Annual Meeting was “Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World”. The participants included Han Zheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice-Premier of the People’s Republic of China; Donald Trump, President of the United States of America; Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore and other political figures, government delegations, business leaders, academic representatives, cultural leaders, media authorities and other representatives.

As the only Hong Kong-based financial institution among the global strategic partners of World Economic Forum, AMTD set up the “AMTD House” at the Davos Annual Meeting for the third consecutive year, and also specially opened a “AMTD Hotel Parsenn” and arranged a series of themed activities such as “Smart Asia: Connecting the Greater Bay Area with ASEAN” and ” Greater Bay Entrepreneurship Day”, etc., to comprehensively introduce the achievements of China’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in promoting digital technology innovation and regional economic development.

1 Guohui Wen, the Mayor of Guangzhou City, led a Guangzhou government delegation to visit AMTD House

Wen Guohui, Deputy Party Secretary of CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Guangzhou, led a delegation of the Guangzhou government to visit AMTD House, together with Calvin Choi, Chairman and President of AMTD Group, Tan Sri Dato’ David CHIU, Chairman of Far East Consortium International Limited and Deputy Director of Subcommittee of Social and Legal Affairs, etc., to promote the development of the Greater Bay Area and deepen bilateral cooperation with Guangzhou as the South-China headquarters in the investment layout.
