Calvin met the Hubei government delegation at AMTD Headquarter in HK, promoting further strategic cooperation and collaboration between HK and Hubei
Recently, Calvin Choi, Chairman and President of AMTD Group (“AMTD”), met with the delegation from Hubei provincial government who visited AMTD Headquarter in Hong Kong. Both parties discussed in-depth on the cooperation and collaboration opportunities between Hubei and Hong Kong. As a leading comprehensive financial institution in Hong Kong, AMTD will further promote strategic cooperation with Hubei, especially in the areas of global capital market, financial cooperation and innovation, and talent cultivation.

Jun Qin, Head of the Hubei Provincial Government Department of Commerce, started by passing on warm greeting from Deputy Governor Haishan Zhao to Calvin, then congratulated AMTD on the success of its recent development, and further praised the effort AMTD has made over the years in promoting cooperation and collaboration between Hong Kong and China. Calvin warmly welcomed the delegation led by Jun Qin, and appreciated the continuously attention, trust, and support of Deputy Governor Haishan Zhao. Calvin indicated that as a leading comprehensive financial institution and Asia’s biggest independent investment bank, AMTD has always been promoting collaboration between Hong Kong, China, and the global capital and resource market, and help Chinese enterprises to enter the global arena. Earlier this year, a joint venture between AMTD and Xiaomi was granted the virtual bank license by HKMA. AMTD is looking forward to helping more outstanding Hubei enterprises to enter the international capital market and achieve long-term development by taking advantage of the resources and strengths it can offer. As such, AMTD will increase its investments amount and expand its strategic plan in Hubei, by establishing a regional headquarter locally, and continue to deepen its connection and cooperation with Hubei, especially in the fields of innovative economy, smart technology, talent cultivation and global capital market. In addition, AMTD plans to set up a talent training center in Hubei, with the objective to internationalize its talents at the higher educational institutions in Hubei. AMTD is hopeful and confident in Hubei’s development potential, and by putting effort to further the economic collaboration and cooperation between Hubei and Hong Kong, AMTD hopes to become a witness, participant, contributor, and beneficiary of Hubei’s development.
